Learning and Families is a 501(c)3, non profit Christian Home School organization serving home school families located primarily in Sarasota and Manatee Counties in Southwest Florida. Learning and Families was established in 1986 to provide many areas of support to home school families in their home school journey.

Through the years the types of support available have changed but the networking and helping hand has stayed the same.

Currently, Learning and Families (LAF) provides: Co-op classes for grades K – 12, small groups for all school aged children, an annual curriculum fair, parent meetings, a high school prom, a yearbook, and a Senior Graduation ceremony, field trip opportunities and so much more.  Joining LAF also provides discounts when joining FPEA and HSLDA.

All families are required to sign a Statement of Faith and pay annual dues in order to join LAF.

The Board of Directors of LAF is composed of volunteers who have been elected from among the membership.  In times past, both mothers and fathers have filled these positions.
